Rahil Patel

Associate/Guest Lecturer

Rahil Patel is a former Hindu monk for twenty years and author of Found By Love: A Hindu Priest Encounters Jesus Christ which is now published in five different languages. He is a Tutor and Speaker at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics.

His work evolves around Hinduism (a group of multiple religions) and how the Christian faith can build bridges into that eastern world and offer the beauty of the Gospels.

Rahil was born in Kenya, raised in the U.K., trained as a monk in India for one of the most influential Hindu traditions and has travelled extensively for most of his life. He has spent five years travelling across North America, undergone over 400 trips into Europe and has criss crossed the vast and complex landscape of India for seven years which has allowed him the experience of accessing east-west cultures and thinking patterns in the social, political and economic space.

Rahil’s encounter with Jesus Christ and his previous experiences of the Hindu world of religions continues to lead him to different audiences around the world today.

As and when needed, Rahil consults the U.K. government on India and Human Rights as well as Freedom of Religion or Belief.

Rahil lives in Oxford with his wife Szabina and daughter Anoushka. Szabina is a theology student at Oxford University.
