CTC is currently running an in-house Certificate Course in Diaspora Mission,Biblical Interpretation, and Ministry. This course is for diaspora and non-diaspora church leaders/students who want to gain much insight into the pastoral and missional work of diaspora churches and communities in the UK and the West. This course also offers those in leadership positions in their churches an opportunity to gain theological, missional, and leadership training to better serve in their various capacities. For some students, the course is the initial preparation for further theological studies. This course runs three modules from 29th September 2022 to 20th July 2023.
Diaspora Mission Module: The diaspora mission module equips students to understand diaspora mission as an area of missiological study that throws light on the burgeoning presence of Christians from the majority world, particularly Africa, Asia, and Latin America, not discounting those fromThe Middle East, Eastern Europe, the Caribbean and other non-Western populations whose presence in the UK and the West has become much of missiological study. It looks at Mission as from everywhere to everywhere and not the preserve of Westerners.
This module equips students to gain an overview of the biblical, cultural/anthropological, theological, and sociological basis for diaspora missions. It highlights the varied racial, cultural, and faith traditions in the contexts in which they carry their missional endeavours. Some of the topics looked at in this module are Introduction to Diaspora Mission/Ministry, Church Leadership in a Diaspora Context, Diaspora Mission and Cross-Cultural Awareness, Diaspora Leaders and Climate Change, Engaging Muslims in the Diaspora, Engaging Younger Generation Diaspora Christians, Engaging Hindu Diaspora, Engaging Chinese Diaspora, Diaspora Communities in Christian History, and Understanding Pentecostalism in the Diaspora, among others.
Biblical Interpretation/Hermeneutics Module:
This module equips students to grasp the processes involved in interpreting the Bible and applying it contextually. Thus, understanding the historical context, culture, literary genre, and grammar of the Bible is given much attention in this module. The module recognises the various interpretive approaches used by different Christian traditions, particularly conservative evangelicals and Pentecostals. Also, the cultural nuances other cultures bring to bear when they read and interpret the Bible. Some of the topicsin this module are: What is Biblical Hermeneutics? Reading the Bible from a Majority World Eyes, Understanding the Text, Historical Interpretation, Contemporary Approaches to Biblical Interpretation,The Place of the Holy Spirit in Biblical Interpretation, Pentecostal Interpretation of the Bible, and African Hermeneutics, among others.
Ministry Module:

The modules help students understand the contextual leadership challenges of ministry in the West and the tools needed to work in a diverse context.
Some of the topics to be considered are What is Ministry?,The Call into The Four/Fivefold Ministry, The Call into the Marketplace, The Contextual Challenges in Leading in a Different Setting, How to Lead Multicultural/Intercultural Teams, Servant Leadership as a New Testament Leadership Model for Those in Ministry,How to Use Your Unique Ministry Calling in Various Settings, and Setting up a Charity and Managing its Finances/Books, among others.

So, our faculty are reflective scholars and theologians who understand the needs of our students. Most of them are practising church leaders/pastors, so students are not getting ivory tower training but academically engaging and practically relevant tuition.
