Archbishop Doye Agama

Archbishop Doyé Agama holds an EMBA from Plymouth University. He came to ordained Christian Ministry in his late 30s. He has had a decades-long interest in Coptic Orthodoxy. After studying Postgraduate Pentecostalism with a small American College, he completed a Certificate in Orthodox Christianity with the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies in Cambridge. He was first ordained in 1994 after serving as a Pastoral Assistant and became a Bishop in the Apostolic Congress of Great Britain ten years later (2004).

Doye then founded the Apostolic Pastoral Association, initially in the northern part of England, to provide specialised training and recognition mainly for minority ethnic church leaders. The APA was later renamed the Apostolic Pastoral Congress. Doye was installed as Archbishop during a ceremony in Southwark Cathedral in 2013. He was a Member of the Board of Churches Together England (CTE) from 2010 to 2018 and was Moderator of the CTE Forum from 2012 to 2015. He continued to lead the Congress as President until his retirement from the role in 2021.

Among other things, he was previously President of Greater Manchester Churches Together, Director of the Luther King House Educational Trust in Manchester, Member of the Council of Manchester Cathedral, and Director and Trustee of the Ecumenical Council for Corporate Responsibility.

Archbishop Doyé is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Management and a Certified Management Consultant. He provides consultancy and leadership training to churches and community projects and to many Christian and other business leaders internationally. He is a Certified Telecommunications Project Manager and a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute for IT (BCS), and he has been active in the major Digital Transformations of several large organisations.
