Dr Adesola (Sola) Akala
Guest Lecturer Biblical Interpretation/Hermeneutics Module - New TestamentDr Adesola (Sola) Akala is a New Testament scholar with a theological focus. She holds a PhD in Biblical Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary. As a Fellow at St John’s College, Durham University, her current research subjects include the gospel of John, Pauline literature, prayer and glory. Her published dissertation is entitled The Son-Father Relationship and Christological Symbolism in the Gospel of John (London: T&T Clark, 2014) and Exploring the Glory of God: New Horizons for a Theology of Glory. Editor. (Lanham, MD: Lexington/Fortress Academic Press, 2020), which is the outcome of convening two conferences on the glory of God. Sola is also the director of Doxa Biblical-Theological Consultancy, an academic service aimed at supporting biblical-theological students and authors with research and writing projects, as well as establishing biblical literacy in local churches.
Sola’s service as a minister spans decades of international preaching and teaching in nations across Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia and Australia. Using her skills as a biblical scholar and theologian, she is committed to the mission of advancing biblical-theological education and spiritual development in the body of Christ.
