Vision

Equipping Christians for mission and ministry through intercultural theological education and formation.

Key components undergirding our vision

World Christianity:
Christ Theological College embodies the reality of multiple centres of Christian universality on all six continents in the 21st Century. Its leadership team is drawn from individuals whose heritage is rooted in the African, Asian, European and Latin American continents. CTC enters into a Christian heritage and tradition that spans six continents and two millennia, rooted in the biblical witness of God’s mission in and through Israel and Jesus. Consequently, it seeks to build a community of teaching and learning from across the world.

Intercultural Theological Reflection:
At CTC, Christian appropriations from across the world enjoy equal place and privilege at the table. Only together, learning from and sharing with each other, do we see the fuller grandeur of Christ and are more equipped to minister in today’s multicultural world. CTC desires not only drink from the wells of World Christian experience but to raise the next generation of Christian scholars who will shape the wells of intercultural research, reflection and practice.

Diaspora Ministries:
South-north migratory patterns have brought Christian communities from the burgeoning Christian heartlands on the southern continents to the new mission field of Europe. CTC embraces the challenges and opportunities that Diaspora Christian communities face to minister both within their communities and beyond to wider host societies.

Ministerial Formation and Practice:
The goal of CTC’s programmes is to envision and equip Christians for mission and ministry. Ministry is understood broadly, encompassing both those set aside for particular ministries within churches and mission organisations and Christians living out their calling in the workplace and community.
